Just to let you know, I've also added in a comment for every entry. Since comments were optional I was surprised that most of the judges provided one, so yeah. Even though one of the comments are mine, I didn't score any entries. Cheers!
PS: running short on time, but thanks a bunch to all the judges!

"The only wall to change the girl's face! The more serious expression creates a great mood and contrasts nicely with the pop-cheerful colors. Great use of text as well and awesome juxtaposition of elements - makes for a terrifically stylish wall!"
"nice, actually. Colors are a bit bright, but its great choice. It shows the waller's ability to be flexible with color. The text section is the worse part of the wallpaper imho.Leave the last and the biggest one (that pink on the bottom of the wallpaper) will be better. Or 2 with the blue one."
"-love all the textures used <3 -the eyes stands out :D"
"an interesting interpretation with solid line-work and vibrant colors is slightly mired with repeating text and strangely differing eye colors. i.e. one is muted. ideally both eyes should have retained the same colors. "
"I liked the idea of changing the scan, because it shows the stretch beyond what was given to turn it into something completely different. The rock feel really works with this, though perhaps the collar makes me think of something punk goth which would be darker in appearance rather than something vibrant."
"The wall doesn't strike me as being especially compelling. This is because it appears to be comprised of layers which are overlayed with adjusted transparency, and little else. Though some patterns may have been created for this, it feels like primarily layering work. In the end the wall does posses the highest level of quality."
"Pretty choice of colours, and by replacing the heavy lines has certainly lightened the feel of the image. However, but simply placing the head sideways seems something of a disappointment. The colours, vectoring & choice of textures all show a modicum of thought, but the positioning is a vast let down."
"Only wall to give the girl a body! Stunning stunning add-on work... it looks seamless, and a great concept also to work in the boy and the red thread. Personally I would've loved to see this in color or with a little more color, but the monochrome definitely makes the red pop, so overall great wall! Looks fantastic on desktop "
"Whoa. You make the whole body with that head? Great job! Its not easy to imagine a nice body pose with that head in my opinion, but you do it 8D I love the colors, they are black-gray-white (my all time favorite colors) and the red thread Its really nice. The only thing is that I cant understand what the wallpaper want to show -__-;;"
"-simple idea of the wall -outlines are pretty jagged on the hair"
"lovely monochrome wall complemented with beautiful patterns on both ladies and excellent choice of the red string to break up the monotony; would have been ideally served with constant outlines [stroke] on the girls arms and legs specifically, and perhaps a bg with stronger shapes and or a few patterns."
"I think that the easiest way to describe this is simply beautiful- I really like the work put into this. By giving her a body, this has given the scan yet another kind of element and stretches the boundaries of what you can do with such a limited scan."
"The effect and contrast created by inserting the red line in a black and white wall is quite strong. It looks as though additional vector work was done in this piece which put the original image into a different context. Overall this is a well executed piece featuring good composition."
"The original image is almost unrecognisable with this whole body added underneath it. A stroke of simplistic genius. The drained colour and emphasis of the red string helps lead the eye around what would normally have been a blank & wasted space. However, I'm not so keen on the textures/patterns used to full in the clothing. It seems too harsh & jarring against the rest of the smooth flowing image."
"Very pop - nice use of patterns. The cut-off for the girl's neck feels a little strange though (would've like to see her extend to where the circle ends). I almost wish the overall design (girl, circle) was slightly smaller. The color combination is probably the main thing that bothers me though - the really bright green combiined with the pink just stands out a little too much on my desktop. "
"Guess who ;D The whole concept is nice, the colors are blend nicely, but they are not easy in the eye x___x The background color i think. You should change the background color with a calmer color i think. Its too bright! The sakura and that swirly thingy is really nice, it fills the wallpaper with happy atmosphere (because of those colors too maybe xD) I just dont really like the dot pattern and the pattern on her scarf... Prefer an empty one xD but its still great."
"-love the scarf and the textures used on it. -very simple wall."
"wallpaper has a solid design element in theory; but is plagued with some jagged edges in the girl's hair and suffers from poor color control and choice. i.e. her hair is a solid color and the green totally contrast with the other bg elements. "
"I like this piece because it's so choc-high-quality XD The only thing that bothers me is that she's wearing a scarf in spring XD; "
"All the individual elements here are well done, such as the patterns and textures used for the scarf and background. Putting all those elements together here, however, does not create the best possible wall. The primary reason for this is the high saturation of the colors chosen by the artist. Where one highly saturated color may have lent the right impact to the composition, electing all colors to be saturated makes the piece look "over the top."
"Eye candy. It's as easy as that. The multi-coloured sakura behind her adds a rainbow of colour, and compliments the soft lines in the vector and the soft blushing cheeks. Lively vibrant fill bright uninterrupted spaces. Many would have filled those areas with touches of textures, but by keeping it to just pure colour has kept it feeling light & airy. Full of the promises of Spring."
"The grainy texture feels a bit too much - would suggest toning it down. The green shapes and circles on the side also feels a bit awkward next to the scan... the flow feels kind of off. I think a more cohesive concept would've helped this wall stand out more. "
"The extraction needs more attention, I still see a white part on the right bottom corner. The texture works nicely, but the colors is blindy x__x the darker part on the middle of the wallpaper is not really nice, i think you should not put it on top of the other layers, but after the scan, because it makes the scan looks weird 0__0 I dont know, but I think the concept needs more attentions >xO it doesnt looks really good, altho when you see the overall wallpaper it gives you a 'club' (modern) image (at least for me). I think you should remove all the round lines except on the left bottom corner ;D"
"-the colours used at really dull and I don’t really get the overall design and concept of it. Looks rather weird in a sense."
"shapes help break up the ambiance of the bg; but the shapes themselves would have been better served removed from the girl's face, and i would have jettisoned the unnecessary top/bottom dividing lines. "
"The use of colour theory with complimentary colours was quite a nice choice. At the same time however, limiting yourself to 2 colours will also mean that the shapes and the "bubbliness" of the whole piece and atmosphere gets reduced to just about 2 colours or levels. I think if this was a very colourful piece, it would add to the bubbliness you want to convey. "
"Regrettably the wall does not posses the highest level of quality. This is due to several factors, but perhaps the most apparent of these is that the original image seems to have been simply posterized with little else done to enhance it. Even if the geometric shapes go back to design trends from previous decades, it is not enough to simply overlay them next to the face and deem that a finished work. Ultimately, this wall calls for additional time and effort before it can be regarded better."
"Good complimenting warm colours keep this together. The textures threaten to swamp the image, but then they wisely break away to give a visual breathing space. But I remain unconvinced about the abstract shapes down the left-hand side. They're attractive in an 80's retro way, but don't seem to compliment the scan, causing awkward green sharp angles against the soft curves of the face. "
"Interesting use of stocks to make the scan of the girl pop... really nice color scheme. The screentones over her face feels slightly distracting though... would tone it down or fade it out a bit more especially over the lighter part of her face. Also, the "just cancer" and "I would not live" highlighted lines of the newspaper adds a somber note to the memories theme of the wall, but being able to read the rest of the article (especially lines like "harvest my eggs") is a bit distracting. A bit more thought into the presentation of the text would've added a lot to this wall. "
"Okay, I dont like that pattern on the scan! >xO it makes the scan looks terrible (for me). I like the background though, and that photo album, the concept is nice, but that head doesnt fit the concept (imho). Maybe its because that drop shadow effect you use there, but i'm not really sure."
" -alittle bad extraction at the bottom left hand corner. -generally well done with the background causing the main scan to stand out and also love the effort put in the background and the usage of other scans. -love the super detail background."
"an incredibly original interpretation with high technical ability, has a gripping message and high attention to detail. the wall would have been better served without the overlay pattern layer on the girl's face and sans the newspaper clipping itself; ideally this should have been worked into the text itself with the proper highlights etc. "
"Initially, the wall is rather pleasing on account of its composition and the in particularly the construction of the background. Upon further inspection, it is regrettable that the original image seem to be enhanced by little more than a half-tone pattern. Even with a well made background, and an original concept for it, the portrait in the foreground is "floating." Essentially, the foreground and background in this was feel disjointed on account of their differing styles. The idea is there, but it lacks the proper execution."
"This is such a great piece using stocks and what not- none of the other entries really did incorporate the "real life stock" and I must admit it looks really good. She doesn't look out of place and the photo quality blending in and all is top notch. "
"A wallpaper that offers more everytime you look at it. The dithering/spotted texture of the scan makes her look as if she's part of a magazine cutting selected from the scrapbook behind her. The feeling of memories is very strong, and considering there's no sort of suggested theme from the scan itself this is then even more original & creative. The use of newspaper clippings is emotive, and the highlighted sections create a disturbed emotional feel to it. It over-shadows the theme of Memories and therefore the happy snap-shots included in the album seem so very distant. A lot of emotion created by one perfect combination of visual elements. "
"The texture over the girl's face is kind of distracting. Otherwise, love the simplicity! Great concept (love the text) and choice of colors - you really captured and brought out the spirit of Kunie Kanbara's artwork... and it's a beautifully elegant wall as well "
"The neck looks weird xDD I mean, it doesnt fit the background -___-;; The text doesnt fit there, because its an art-nouveau type of text. You should use another font for that! >xO Citrus? I dont see any citrus or any colors that indicate this wallpaper is an citrus-ey one. The girl's hair colors are funky, i like it ;D I dont remember the scan's original color, but its nice ;D I would like to see a pattern on the background or somewhere on the wallpaper, because this wallpaper needs it."
"-love the concept& the hair :D -really simplistic :D"
"really enjoyed the simple structure, ambiance, excellent color coordination, and technical ability. i like how the wall fits together, no real complaints here. "
"I liked how simple this was, because the scan itself was so refreshing. Looking at this makes me think of fruit and a burst of freshness. Good use of colours, with the brown receding- very lovely."
"The simplicity of the composition is one of the strong points of this wall. The subtle textures also lend complexity where there appears to be little of it. The face itself could have perhaps used additional changes, yet the strength of the overall piece is complemented by the colors in the scan."
"Perhaps the most simplistic in appearance, but that's what adds to the charm of this. Without any gimmicks it just emphasises the quality of the artwork from the scan. The vector is strong & retains the elegence of the pose. The shapes in the background & choice of font create a slight retro touch, but nothing that swamps the charming image. "
"Nice mixing of scans - I really like the use of patterns, especially in the girls' hair. The girls in the middle stand out a bit too much color-wise though. Although since the text seem to alternate between positive and negatives you might've tried playing with more radical color changes to convey the positive - negative change in words. The way the text is arranged now looks good, but I wonder what text-overlap effects over the girls might've looked like. Finally the woman/man signs look nice, but seem a little random since the rest of the background is all text/light pattering. Overall though, this looks great! "
"Nice concept, but i think the main scan should not be there -__-;; it looks weird -__-;; Put it in their front? 8D Colors : not too much colors, it looks monotone actually :3 the general mood is nice, they looks really happy lol The idea is nice, it just need more attention on character placement 8D The background is also kinda weird for me, dunno why ;3;"
"-this one’s love <3 XD anyway… I love the overall concept and the detailed-ness of this wall. And its wide screen too :D"
"6? absolutely gorgeous vectors with excellent patterns and color coordination reeks of high technical abilities. i think the shape of the "word cutouts" would have been better served as being all smooth - not smooth and crooked."
"Again, a lot of work has been put into this one~ what I liked about it was that like one of the entries, it took into account other Kunie scans in the gallery. The only problem I have with this one is that the scan though used (and used in a different way to the majority of them- as the central "focal point"), is that it kind of didn't belong. She looks a bit like she's tagging along behind them XD; I think if you replaced one of those girl's heads with the head of the scan, it might have worked out a little better- or change the facial expression of the specified scan. Otherwise, I love the pop feel of this- so groovy!"
"With the bold colors used in this piece, the first impression made by it is quite strong. Working from a good concept, being the only submission to feature this many Kunie Arete scans, the end result is distinct. The background color choice may in fact be too bold, and would emphasize the characters if it were slightly muted or desaturated. The the effectiveness of this piece lies primarily in having changed the context of the original scans completely, and regrouping them to form a unique scenario. Combining this with a strong grasp of design concepts, and technical aptitude, and you have powerful contender for the first prize."
"Widescreen & pink. Oh dear... the first my computer can't apprecaite in full, the latter is a colour I am not enamoured of. That said, this is undeniably fun, cheeky & cosmopolitan. There's no doubt that these are city girls, and there lives are bustling & busy. The use of text & symbols in the background fills all that in subliminally. However, the use of pink moves beyond feminine to something that pollutes my eyes, and the theme of chit chat & gossip is not actually conveyed through the poses of all the portraits. Instead it looks like they're waiting in line for the toilets.... Pretty, but not quite right. "
